Spending the Day on El Paseo

Without a doubt, El Paseo is the most glamorous street in the Coachella Valley. Modern art and sculptures decorate the perfectly manicured grass upon the street medians. A dramatic mountain view backdrops the designer stores, art galleries, jewelers, and restaurants that line the street. The street is a perfect place to spend the day shopping and dinning while basking in the warm desert sun. Below I highlighted some of my favorite stores, and suggested some fun purchases. Now grab your wallet and your sunscreen and get to shopping!

Oliver Peoples

Start you day at the Iconic Oliver Peoples. Located at the far end of El Paseo, it is a great place to start our journey. Here the iconic shop sells eye-ware for men and women. Since 1987 they have been known for the use of fine materials, their attention to detail, and impeccable quality. They carry myriad of styles, so everyone is sure to find something that suits them. My favorites are the Gregory Peck and the Lilletto. These are very versatile glasses, and I like them because you can dress them up or down. These are an investment piece, a pair of glasses that you will have and treasure for years to come.

Ralph Lauren

After visiting Oliver Peoples, be sure to stop by Ralph Lauren. Just a few steps down the street, the El Paseo location has clothes straight off the runway. I was impressed to see the brand's new collection in the storefront. Their new spring summer collection just launched, and is in a select number of stores. Drawing from their classic heritage, the new collection offers a subtle refresh on the Ralph Lauren classics you already love. I was very impressed with the brand's collection of handbags. Their quality was incredible and I appreciate their understated design. My favorite is the Canvas Welington Crossbody Bag. Additionally I love the mens terry cloth smoking jacket. This playful take on a formal jacket is perfect for spring summer. Great job Ralph Lauren!

Baccarat

Be sure to check out one of my favorite stores on the entire street. Baccarat, founded in 1765, is an exquisite brand dedicated to the perfection of crystal. The company began producing the crystal products we know today such as glasses and vases in 1824. The name Baccarat comes from the town where the company started, approximately 250 miles away from Paris. While they are most known for their stunning crystal pieces, my favorite item in their El Paseo store is the Baccarat Rouge 540 Cologne. The scent is quite intoxicating, the website states, "Jasmine blossoms and woody musks engage in an alchemy of the senses. A profusion and fusion of the elements that can only be tamed by the art of the perfumer and time-tested wisdom." This cologne is a bit expensive, but one spray will last all day. I am currently saving up to buy this and I highly recommend this product.

Vince

Vince is one of the most understated brands on my list. One of the newest brands on our list, founded in 2002, Vince brings peace and calm in a world where a quiet moment is hard to find. I enjoyed this store for a few reasons. First, their use of blank space to highlight their products really intrigued me. In an oversaturated world, their clutter free store was incredibly refreshing. One of my favorite pieces is the Lofty Cashmere Long Sleeve Polo. In addition to beautiful sweaters, Vince has a wide array of high quality pants. One of my favorite pairs are the Linen Pleated Pant. This is a great option because you can easily dress the pants up or down depending on your needs. Check out Vince for some excellent staple pieces that will stand the test of time.

Louis Vuitton

One of the most well known brands in the world, Louis Vuitton specializes in leather goods and high end fashion. What you may not know is that the brand has a wide collection of fine jewelry. Located at the End of El Paseo, the Louis Vuitton store in Palm Desert has a wide variety of fine jewelry. One of my favorite pieces in the store is Idylle Blossom Bracelet in yellow gold. The piece is incredibly refined and would be easy to wear everyday with any outfit.

So the next time you find yourself in the Coachella Valley, be sure to head over to El Paseo for a shopping experience you will never forget.
